Organic Echinacea Tincture and Glycerite

  • $19.99

Here I have 2 formulas. One is extracted in alcohol and the other extracted in food grade vegetable glycerin. Both are equally good.  Some people prefer staying away from alcohol. The reason that some of my tinctures have an alcohol free alternative is that the plant's medicinal constituents can be extracted that way as well. And some not. The glycerite is sweet.

Echinacea is from the daisy family. It is used primarily as an antiviral. However, it can also be used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and an antibacterial.  Not all extracts are created equal. There is a lack of standardization in the commercial market so one may work better than another and some not at all. For this reason I use ratio's and solvent percentages from batch to batch so that the formula remains the same.

The tincture will last many years with the glycerite lasting 15 months.

Dosage - Echinacea should be taken when you feel a cold, flu, sore throat or cough coming on.  You can take 1 dropperful and hold under your tongue for a few seconds and swallow or place the dropperful in a small glass of water, tea or juice. Just make sure to drink the whole thing.

Contraindications - Echinacea may not be helpful if you have any of the following conditions: an autoimmune disorder (such as lupus), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should talk with your doctor before you start taking echinacea.
